Founder's Badge Trivia

This section aims to capture interesting trivia regarding the Founder's Badge and its recipients, in BB Malaysia.
We will add to this section gradually. If you have any interesting trivia, do drop a comment below. Note: We reserve the decision whether or not to publish your trivia and we may require further verification or corroboration of the same.

2. Sgt Ronald Leong Yik Seng (01KUL), 1988 is the father of SGT Aaron Leong Weng Hon (12KUL), 2020.
3. Sgt Teh Gim Beng (08PNG), 1995 is the father of SSGT Joseph Teh Zhe Xi (08PNG), 2022

Sibling Founders' Men/Women
1. SSGT Chin Mee Keong (01KUL), 1962 is the brother of SGT Chin Mee Ping (01KUL) who received the Queen's Badge in 1961
2. LCPL Chia Chan Sing (01KUL), 1962 is the brother of SGT Chia Chan Tong (01KUL) who received the Queen's Badge in 1961.
3. SSGT Lim Yong Fu (03BTW), 2018 and SGT Lim Mei Qing (03BTW), 2018 are siblings.
4. SGT Chong Wyern (02KKB), 2016 and SGT Chong Xannon (02KKB), 2020 are siblings.
5. SSGT Jason Goh (07KCH), 2016 and SSGT Jeff Goh (07KCH), 2023 are siblings.

3. Total Number of known Recipients: 246 (as of 2 April 2024). This number includes the 10 Queen's Men who received their award before the Founder's Badge was created.

4. Youngest Recipient: SGT Aaron Leong Weng Hon (12KUL), 2020 aged 16 years 11 Months on date of approval. 

5. Company with the highest number of Founder's Badge holders: 
8th Penang Company with 27 (as at 2 April 2024).

6. State with the highest number of Founder's Badge holders: Penang with a whopping 81 Founder's Badge recipients. (This number includes 4 from Kedah which falls under Penang State Council jurisdiction)

Kuala Lumpur is second with 52 (This number includes 1 from Negeri Sembilan which falls under KL State Council jurisdiction). 

Together, these 2 states have a combined total of 54.07% of all Founder's Badge (and Queen's Badge) recipients in Malaysia (or 52.03% excluding the Kedah  and Negeri Sembilan recipients).

1. Mr. Albert Kedit, one of the pioneers of the 1st Kuching Company and later Captain of the same company, was a Queen's Man from the Singapore Battalion (7th Singapore Coy).
2. Mr. Seah Yun Khong, the first Captain of the 1st Jesselton Company (later redesignated 1st Kota Kinabalu Company and subsequently redesignated 3rd Kota Kinabalu Company) was a King's Man (1938) from the Singapore Battalion (2nd Singapore Coy).
